TikTok’s new privacy & safety efforts – building data centers in Ireland and Norway
How the big social media companies handle user data is always a widely debated topic, especially when it comes to TikTok that originates from China. Last week TikTok announced they are currently building two new data centers in Ireland and one in Norway. They will be ready during 2023. TikTok calls it ‘Project Clover’ and it will be overseen by an external third party security company. This means that TikTok will soon be handling their European user data in the same way as both Googl and Meta. As a marketer this is a big step forward in privacy & safety for our European customers.
