Instagram urges teenagers to take a break from the platform with ‘Quiet Mode’
Last week Instagram announced their new feature ‘Quiet Mode’. When it’s active the user won’t receive any notifications, your profile status changes to ‘In Quiet Mode’ and DMs sent are met with an auto reply, similar to an Out of Office message. Instagram is also giving users more control of their Recommendations feed. The purpose of ‘Quiet Mode’ is better mental wellness for teenagers according to Instagram, but the feature will be available for all users. It’s currently being tested in selected markets.
