EU and US agree on data transfer deal

The European Union has just announced reaching an agreement in principle with the U.S. on a revived trans-Atlantic data flows deal. “We have found an agreement in principle on a new framework for trans-Atlantic data flows,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said at a joint press conference with U.S. President Joe Biden last week. “This will enable predictable, trustworthy data flows between the EU and the U.S., safeguarding privacy and civil liberties,” the European Commission President announced. The exact content of the deal is yet unknown.
