TikTok and Instagram Reels neck and neck in app usage

When TikTok became a smash hit during the pandemic back in 2020 the social media landscape changed drastically. Instagram frantically changed its app to combat the rise of TikTok, much to the begrudgement of its users. Then YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels launched. Even LinkedIn wanted a piece of the short form video pie. Now we have fresh user statistics of the different short form video apps from the company Business of Apps. Meta’s Reels now has roughly the same number of users as TikTok, quite an impressive comeback from Meta to say the least.
