Meta’s new AI tool can identify objects in images and video
Last week Meta launched their new AI tool Segment Anything Model (SAM). It analyzes and identifies objects in images and videos with artificial intelligence. A nifty tool for designers to mask out objects. The potential is larger than that though. Since SAM can identify objects in a video it can be used in AR goggles for example. When you’re cooking the recipe can be shown in the goggles and SAM can identify the ingredients you see and give you instructions. SAM is currently not available for commercial use.
