TikTok tests in-app shopping options as it pushes to build on its revenue potential

To shop directly in the social media app is popular in China. In the western world though this user behavior hasn’t caught on. Because of this Meta canceled their live shopping feature last fall. TikTok doesn’t seem discouraged by the previous failures to launch in-app shopping. They’re now launching new features for in-app shopping. It’s currently being beta tested together with selected companies. The question is if the users are now ready to adopt this shopping behavior?
