Last mile fulfilment from actors within the e-commerce segment has been an issue for some time. Amazon has tried with drones, Zalando has offered 1h delivery and there are several other examples that aims to handle the final delivery phase towards the client. IKEA has also identified this as an important factor for future success and late last week was it announced that IKEA acquires TaskRabbit which is a company within the gig-economy. TaskRabbit has over 60,000 freelance workers connected to its service today. This will most likely result in that we in the future will see increased alternatives for home delivery and furniture assembly.
